If you want to watch Sky content but don’t want to be tied into a contract, Now’s Memberships are a great option. With services for Entertainment, Cinema, Sports and more, there’s loads of content to stream.
Now is exclusive to the UK. However, if you want to catch the latest sports game or episode of your favourite show whilst you’re travelling, then there is a simple workaround. Here’s how to stream Now from abroad.
You can see how Now compares to rivals such as Netflix and Prime Video in our chart of the best streaming services.
Can I watch Now outside the UK?
We can confirm that you can watch Now from abroad. However, you’ll need to have bought a Now Membership while you’re in the UK before you travel, or have access to login details for an existing account.
If you have that, then all you need is a VPN (virtual private network). This reroutes your IP address, so you can appear as if you’re browsing the internet from other countries.
There’s lots of VPNs out there, but out top picks for streaming are NordVPN and Surfshark, as they offer a great range of servers, simple performance and affordable pricing, especially if you sign up for longer-term plans.
Once you’ve downloaded your VPN, connect to UK server. Then, head to Now website and log in. You should be able to stream as usual – we’ve tested this method and can confirm it works.
Here’s the full pricing for Now Memberships, though new users can get discounts and bundles:
- Now Entertainment Membership – £9.99 per month
- Now Cinema Membership – £9.99 per month
- Now Sports Membership – £34.99 per month
- Now Hayu Membership – £4.99 per month

Can I sign up for a Now account from abroad?
If you’re permanently based outside of the UK, or forgot to sign up for an account before you left, then unfortunately you won’t be able to sign up for an account with Now.
We tested this method, and were not able to get through to the payment page – even with a VPN. You’ll most likely see this page appear:

There are other ways to watch content from Now abroad. Max is available in the US, Latin America and parts of Europe, which has most of the HBO staples shown on Now’s Entertainment Membership.
For sports, there’s ESPN+ and DAZN, while reality content from Hayu is often shown on Bravo in the US.
