Like many other subscriptions and bills this year, Sky has confirmed that its subscription package prices are going up.
This change affects all three major Sky TV subscriptions: Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream. If you’re looking to save money this year, there’s a way to avoid this price hike. Here’s what you need to know.
How much is Sky TV going up by?
Sky has confirmed that the price increase across both broadband and TV will be an additional 6.7%. In terms of a cash increase, here’s what that looks like.
If you’re a Sky Stream or Sky Glass customer, here’s how much channels and subscriptions are going up by:
- Sky Entertainment: Up by £2 per month
- Sky Kids: Up by £1 per month
- Sky Cinema: Up by £3 per month
- Sky Sports: Up by £3 per month
There’s no change to TNT Sports on Stream and Glass plans. If you have a Sky Q set-top box, here’s how much more you’ll be paying:
- Sky Entertainment: Up by £2.50 per month
- Sky Kids: Up by £1 per month
- Sky Cinema: Up by £1 per month
- Sky Sports: Up by £1 per month
- TNT Sports: Up by £2 per month
In addition to that, Sky’s Whole Home package (which allows you to watch Sky in other rooms via a Puck) is also getting a £1 monthly increase.
The cost of your overall monthly subscription will depend on your hardware, and what’s included in your package. For example, an 18-month contract on Sky Stream will be increasing from £26 per month to £28 per month, while a rolling monthly contract on Stream will be increasing from £29 per month to £31 per month.
The actual price of the hardware, such as the TV itself, is not changing.

Avoid the Sky price hike by locking in a long-term contract
We’ve had confirmation that if you sign up for a long-term contract before the cost increase, then Sky will honour that price. That means you won’t have to pay the higher fees until late summer 2025.
Prices for Sky will rise on 1 April 2024, so make sure you join before the end of this month. If you sign up for Sky Stream now, you can get the first month for free.
If you’re mid-contract and can’t renew at the old price, there isn’t any other way to avoid the price increase, unless you cancel altogether. You could also opt for the flexible monthly streaming service, Now, or try contacting Sky to see if you can renegotiate or downgrade your plan.
