Fans of the 1990s animated X-Men series have reason to celebrate. After 30 years, the show is returning in a refreshed version. Disney’s long-announced project is about to see the light of day, with characters such as Professor X, Wolverine, Magneto, and Jean Grey set to reappear on TV screens.
X-Men ’97 will be a series unrelated to the expanding MCU, which many may welcome with relief. It will probably make it easier to watch for a new generation of Marvel fans who may not necessarily be familiar with the complexities of the multiverse.
Animated series, especially those aimed at adult audiences, have grown in popularity recently. Thus, we’re really curious how X-Men ’97 will compare to the gory Invincible on Prime Video and the grim Arcane on Netflix.
There’s still some time left until the premiere of Disney’s superhero show, and we’re gathering the most crucial information about it.

X-Men ’97 plot
Disney’s new tale is a sequel to X-Men: The Animated Series, which rolled out in the nineties. The show told the story of Doctor X’s team’s struggles against powerful villains such as Magneto, but it also touched on social issues and parodied pop culture.
As with the original series, the action of X-Men ’97 will be set in the 1990s. The story will pick up after The Animated Series finale when the severely injured Charles Xavier travels into space to recover in the Shi’ar Empire. The stranded superheroes must cope in a mutant-hostile world and face new threats.
