After the end of Succession and The Crown, there has been a lack of TV shows focusing on rich, powerful and often unlikeable people – we’ve still got a wait for the The White Lotus season 3. Fortunately, HBO is releasing a limited series focusing on these themes, starring none other than Kate Winslet.
The actress has already had the opportunity to work with the network on the crime series Mare of Easttown. The production received excellent reviews from viewers and critics, and it brought Winslet an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series.
But will The Regime repeat the success of Mare of Easttown? Can it be a proud follower of Succession? There’s a chance for that – the series’ writer and showrunner is Will Tracy, who wrote for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Succession and The Menu. Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons, Philomena) and Jessica Hobbs (Broadchurch, The Crown) are directing the series.
We have gathered the most important information about the new HBO miniseries.
When will The Regime release?
The series with Kate Winslet will debut on Max on Sunday 3 March 2024, at 9pm ET. The series consists of 6 episodes that will arrive on the service weekly.
The basic ad-supported tier costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. You can always upgrade your subscription to an ad-free version for $15.99 monthly or $149.99 yearly.
In the UK, The Regime will be available on Sky Atlantic and Now. We don’t yet know when the series will land, but hopefully it won’t be long after episodes drop in America.
