It might be the season of festive fun and cosy comfort films, but you don’t have to give up action and explosions this Christmas.
Die Hard might have been released back in 1988, but it’s a classic movie that just happens to be set at Christmas. It stars Bruce Willis as New York cop John McClane, who is tasked with saving dozens of hostages (including his wife) from terrorists who have stormed Los Angeles’ Nakatomi Plaza building.
The leader of the terrorist gang? None other than Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman. While not child-friendly (it’s rated 16+), this is a film that most of the family will still enjoy.
There are a total of five Die Hard films, but we’re focusing on the original here. Here’s how you can stream, rent or buy the movie this Christmas. You may also be interested in our guide to the best UK Christmas TV this year.
