Black Friday is a great opportunity to get a flagship phone for less, but savings are arguably even more impressive on affordable handsets.
And the highlight here is undoubtedly the Galaxy A34 5G, Samsung’s mid-range phone from 2023. The 256GB model usually costs a respectable £399, but Samsung has dropped the price to just £249.
That’s an impressive 37% discount, and the lowest price it’s ever been. If it sells out at Samsung, you can also get this deal from from Argos, Currys and Very:
It’s now significantly cheaper than the 128GB model (£349), and the deal is available on all four colours: Graphite, Lime (shown in this article), Silver and Violet.
With its new price, the A34 5G can now be considered a budget phone, despite having very much mid-range features and specs.
This includes a gorgeous 6.6-inch, 120Hz OLED display, solid battery life and impressive cameras – even for a £349 phone.
Software support is also among the best around, with Samsung committing to OS updates until 2027 (likely Android 16) and security patches for a further year.

That was good enough for an Editors’ Choice award in our full review, with the fingerprint reader and charging the only real downsides.
Our Executive Editor Jim Martin described it as “good value” at £349 for 128GB, but £100 less for double the storage takes things to the next level.
Samsung doesn’t sell the Galaxy A34 5G in the US, though you may be able to import it via Amazon. It’s not guaranteed to work with US carriers, though.
This is just one of the many great Black Friday phone deals that are currently available. Meanwhile, our Black Friday hub includes offers on plenty of other tech.
