Black Friday week is here, and there are already numerous discounts available – including across popular streaming services.
HBO’s platform Max has the most exciting promotion so far, offering US viewers a monthly subscription at an extremely low price.
The discount applies to Max with Ads, the cheapest of the three subscription tiers available. The standard price for this package is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. However, for Black Friday you can access the service for only $2.99 per month for the first six months.
The offer is available for both new and returning subscribers. Note that the subscription will return to the standard price after the six months are up (unless you cancel before then).
You should get in quick, as this discount is valid from now until 27 November 2023, AKA Cyber Monday. At under $3 per month, it’s perfect if you’re looking to try out the Max platform.
Keep in mind that if you sign up for Max with Ads you can only stream on two devices at once, and video quality is capped at 1080p. Max does have ad-free and 4K plans available, but neither of these are discounted for Black Friday.

The Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Max platform is home to many unique series and films. The library includes major HBO hits such as Game of Thrones and its prequel House of the Dragon, Succession, Barry, The Last of Us, White Lotus, Killing Eve, and comedic shows like Hacks, Our Flag Means Death, and Abbott Elementary. You can also watch classics like The Wire, Sex and the City and The Sopranos.
Max also features movies and series from the DC universe. By subscribing to the service, you can stream films about Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, as well as series like Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, or Doom Patrol.
In 2024, Max is worth checking out for new releases like True Detective: Night Country, The Penguin, The Regime, and The Sympathizer. In the upcoming months, Max will premiere the second season of House of the Dragon and Tokyo Vice, and the third season of Hacks. Finally, the service is expected to soon feature this year’s summer hit, Barbie.
