Apple has finally unveiled the most awaited smartphone series of the year, the iPhone 15 series. Apple’s latest iPhone series boasts significant design enhancements, notably the introduction of the long-awaited USB Type-C port. In contrast, the iPhone 14 series featured a lightning port. Both new devices maintain the same display size as their predecessors. The iPhone 15 sports a 6.1-inch display, while the Plus variant features a 6.7-inch screen. According to Apple, the Super Retina XDR display is great for watching content, streaming Apple Fitness+ workouts, and playing games. The new models’ peak HDR brightness now reaches up to 1600 nits so HDR photos and videos look better than ever. Also, peak outdoor brightness reaches up to 2000 nits, twice as bright as the previous generation.

Both of these smartphones run on the latest iOS 17. The 6-core CPU is faster and more power-efficient, with two high-performance and four high-efficiency cores. For the first time, users can take portraits without having to switch to Portrait mode. When there’s a person, dog, or cat in the frame, or when a user taps to focus, iPhone automatically captures depth information, so users can turn photos into stunning portraits later in the Photos app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Also, for greater creative control, users can adjust the focus point after the photo has been taken. Apple also offers improvements to Night mode, including sharper details and more vivid colours. When lighting is bright or uneven, new Smart HDR captures subjects and the background with more true-to-life renderings of skin tones, while ensuring that photos have brighter highlights, richer midtones, and deeper shadows when viewed in the Photos app.
Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus: Price & Availability
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available for pre-orders from Friday. The smartphones will be available for purchase on September 22. Speaking of the prices, the iPhone 15 has launched in India at a starting price of ₹79,900, whereas, the iPhone 15 Plus rolls out at a starting price of ₹89,900.The new smartphone models will be available in pink, yellow, green, blue and black colour options.
